Objective To investigate the expression of CXCL13 and its receptor CXCR5 and the relationship between CXCL13 and its receptor CXCR5 and clinicopathological features. Methods Totally 85 pairs of gastric cancer tissues and corresponding normal gastric mucosa tissues were collected. The expressions of CXCL13 and CXCR5 were detected by SABC immunohistochemistry. Results CXCL13 and CXCR5 were mainly expressed in the cytoplasm and membrane. The expressions of CXCL13 and CXCR5 in gastric cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in normal gastric mucosa (P <0.05). 2 In the analysis of the relationship with the clinicopathological features, we found that the positive expression of CXCL13 and CXCR5 protein had no significant correlation with the gender, age and differentiation of patients (P> 0.05). However, it was significantly correlated with TNM classification and lymph node metastasis (P <0.05). Conclusion The expressions of CXCL13 and CXCR5 are up-regulated in gastric cancer, suggesting that CXCL13 and CXCR5 may play an important role in the development and progression of gastric cancer.
