Abduction stick bamboo is one of the main foods of giant pandas in Wolong National Nature Reserve. The research on the growth and development of bamboo shoots in the walking sticks in three regions of Wolong showed that no matter when the new shoots were unearthed (10 cm), the time that the giant pandas could reach the height of 30 cm and the height of the stopped feeding (200 cm) It is delayed with the elevation. There was also a significant difference in the development of new shoots at different altitudes between different regions. The length of feeding time (stopping feeding time - initial feeding time) of giant pandas varied little among different altitudes. Movement of wild pandas in the horizontal direction increases the chances of selecting bamboo shoots, while vertical migration can lengthen the time of taking bamboo shoots. The overall survival rate of bamboo shoots in Wolong Nature Reserve is 48.64 ± 8.43%. The young shoots of the central part of the mountain (2 000m-2 300m) are relatively thick, and then decrease gradually with altitude.
