In order to promote the application of geospatial information in e-government, the “2002 E-government and GIS Symposium” was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province from October 9 to 12, 2002. The symposium was sponsored by the Professional Committee of Government Geographic Information System of China Geographic Information System Association and co-organized by Computer Center of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
