玉米自交系丹299具有高产、耐涝、抗逆性强、发芽势强、保苗率高、米质好、生育期适中、适应性广等优点。用其组配的杂交种丹玉402号、丹玉85号、丹玉405号和象育513号高产、稳产、耐涝性和抗病性强、结实饱满、米质优良,已在全国范围内大面积推广应用。到2012年累计推广396.4万hm2,增加粮食29.73亿kg,增收41.62亿元。2013年“多抗性玉米自交系丹299及其杂交种的选育与利用”获辽宁省科技进步二等奖。
