Schistosoma mansoni and S. rodhaini are two closely related species that both have sideloids. Both are flat-bed spiral as its intermediate host, the former is widely distributed, can cause human schistosomiasis, the latter localized in parts of Africa, mainly infected with rodents and carnivores. In some areas, the two schistosomes can be both prevalent and mixed to infect the same intermediate host.
