很久以来探索苏格兰尼斯湖怪兽的热潮经久不衰。令人记忆犹新的是几年前日本探险队曾开赴该地,人们不仅从遥远的远东赶来这里探险,在欧美也有许多人加入了这一热潮。此外,还有不少的组织多年来一直都定期前往尼斯湖。其中一个由赖恩斯率领的小组已经连续八年在尼斯湖寻找这一怪兽。最近人们还将起用新的助手,这就是两条海豚。赖恩斯小组在佛罗里达洲的一个环形礁地带训练了两条海豚。他们将深水摄影机和频闪光观测器闪光仪缚在海豚身上,并教它们怎样迅速地发现海龟和如何追逐水中的大动物。
