据国家自然科学基金委员会主任张存浩在纪念科学基金制实行十年的新闻发布会上说,中国实行自然科学基金制取得了重大成果.十年来,国家自然科学基金委员会运用国家拨给的近10亿元的有限资金,累计资助了2万多个面上项目,80多个“八五”重点项目,100多个重大项目;完成了国家重点实验室和部门开放实验室的评估及评议等任务;建立了由两万多名学术、管理人员组成的公正的、有权威的专家评审系统;与16个国家、地区的19个科学基金组织建立了正式联系和合作关系.
