化学是以实验为基础的科学。我们除按教材规定进行课堂演示和学生分组实验外,还开放实验室,让学生在课外进行以下“开放实验”。一、加强训练基本操作的开放实验学生对基本操作未掌握好,我们用开放实验补课。俐如,天平的使用,固液体药品的取用以及加热、溶解、搅拌、过滤、蒸发、结晶等等,利用每天下午课外活动时间,分别对高一、高二年级学生进行严格的训练。在此过程中由辅导教师提出有关问题,如为什么拿试管要用三指法?为什么往试管里装固体颗粒药品时,试管要倾斜?为什么取用液体药品时要手心对着标签?为什么过滤纸要低于漏斗边缘约5毫米?为什么漏斗管要紧靠烧杯内壁等等。引导学生思考,及时纠正不正确的操作,从而加深学生对仪器的基本性能、使用原理的理解,并逐步使操作规范化。
