通过收集商品药材、深入分布区及产地调查和查阅原植物标本，对中药猫爪草进行了商品鉴定，发现目前商品猫爪草药材来源于毛茛属的２种植物，主流品种为小毛茛Ｒａｎｕｎｃｕｌｕｓｔｅｒｎａｔｕｓ，少数地区用肉根毛茛Ｒ．ｐｏｌｉ；此外还对其进行资源了调查
