华其根老师现在是无锡市郊区旺庄新村小学的体育教师。他自一九六一年无锡师范毕业后,一直从事体育教学工作。华其根老师家在农村,幼年时期就得了胃病。进入师范后,在一次体格检查时,他被查出有五种疾病,这对他触动很大。于是,他奋发锻炼,不但通过了“劳卫制”,在师范毕业前夕,成为学校中长跑运动员,还取得了学业上的好成绩。他尝到了体育锻炼的甜头,深深体会到体育对于一个人的成长是多么重要。从此,他对体育倾注了深厚的感情。 Hua Qigen is now a PE teacher at Wangzhuang Xincun Primary School in the suburbs of Wuxi.
