In order to quickly implement the “Notice of Conducting Key Investigations on the Epidemiology of Viral Hepatitis” by the Ministry of Health, a National Design Meeting for Viral Hepatitis Survey was held in Zhengzhou City from April 23 to April 1979. A total of 97 representatives from 29 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions throughout the country and 10 medical schools, schools, and directly affiliated units of the Ministry of Health participated in the meeting and discussed the specific contents, methods, and technical issues of the hepatitis investigation. Everyone agreed that viral hepatitis is a disease that endangers the working people’s health and seriously affects the labor force. Hepatitis is linked to the health of hundreds of millions of people and protects laborers.
