现在已经进入一九八○年,到二○○○年只有二十年了。我们应该冷静回想一下,在过去的若干年中,多少时间被浪费,多少工作被耽误。过去的二十多年中,世界范围的工艺美术有很大发展,发明了不少新的材料,创造了不少新的制作技术,同时也创造了不少新的艺术表现手法。工艺美术已经跨进美术与科学结合的时代,它为人类生活的现代化,作出一定贡献。面对这些现实,我们一定要认真考虑今天的工艺美术如何适应人民群众现代生活需要、如何在工艺美术领域中使美术和科学更紧密地结合起来。现在已经进入八十年代,不改变眼前的局面,对实现四个现代化会带来不利。我们从事工艺美术工作的人,自己也需要冷静想一想,
It is now in 1980 and only 20 years in 2000. We should calmly think back to how much time was wasted in the past few years and how much was delayed.
