当道路达到其结构寿命时就会产生深层裂缝、坑洞及拥包等损坏,从而导致道路使用性能的严重下降。因此,需要进行结构性加强,以便从根本上恢复乃至提高道路的行驶性能。事实上,世界上许多国家的道路当局已经将越来越多的注意力由发展新路转移到道路的维修养护上。作为一种经济性的道路维修改造方法,就地冷再生的主要优点是百分之百地利用旧材料使现有铺层得到加强,其次有工期短、对公共交通干扰小等优点,而且与其他维修方法相比,就地冷再生的成本大大降低。
