1978～1982年,我们从山东、河南、安徽、云南、广东、辽宁等10个省的烟区采集了700余个病毒标样,通过寄主反应、抗性测定及电镜等分离手段,已初步查明我国主要烟区重要病毒的分布和为害程度,除了两个重要病毒——烟草花叶病毒(TMV)和黄瓜花叶病毒(CMV)之外,还有一个分布较广、为害较大的烟草病毒就是马铃薯 Y 病毒(Potato virus y),在烟草和马铃薯、蔬菜混种地区,尤其在马铃薯、烟草间作田里,发病更为严重,发病率一般为10%左右,重者达35%以上。烟草受害后产质量均下降,是我国烟草上的一个重要病毒病害。
