Heart rate variability (HRV) analysis is a measure of changes in heart rate by measuring the number of variations in successive R-R intervals. HRV reduction is an independent predictor of sudden cardiac death, particularly risk of sudden death after myocardial infarction. This article analyzes 21 cases of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients with HRV, and explore its clinical significance. 1 Materials and Methods 1.1 Case Selection 21 cases of AMI were diagnosed by history, ECG and serum enzymatic examination, 18 males and 3 females; aged 45 to 75 years, mean 57.5 ± 9.06 years. The infarction was located in the anterior wall in 11 cases, with extensive anterior wall in 2 cases, inferior wall in 5 cases, inferior wall + posterior wall in 2 cases and inferior wall + right ventricle in 1 case.
