Although Jilin Province is a low-risk province, the number of confirmed HIV infections has been on the rise in recent years with an average annual growth rate of over 40%. More than 80% of HIV-infected people live in rural areas, most of whom are paid plasmapheresis in the mid-1990s. In September 2003, 102 HIV-infected persons were physically examined. More than 80% of HIV-infected persons experienced various degrees of immunocompromised conditions and 40% of them started to appear.
