一个老和尚养了一盆兰花,他对这盆淡雅的兰花呵护有加,经常为她浇水除草杀虫。兰花在老和尚的悉心照料下,长得十分健康,清秀可人。有一次,老和尚要外出会友,便把这盆花托付给小和尚,请他帮忙照看。小和尚很负责,像老和尚一样用心呵护兰花,兰花茁壮地成长着。一天,小和尚给兰花浇过水后放在窗台上,就出门办事了。不想天降暴雨,狂风把兰花打翻砸坏了。小和尚赶回来,看到一地的残枝败叶,十分痛心,也很害怕老和尚责怪他。
