In this paper, the finite element method is used to analyze the interaction of shear wall-foundation-soil on multi-layer foundations. For comparison, the models of three kinds of soils, commonly used in Winkel, semi-infinite elastic bodies, and multi-layer foundations, were also analyzed. In the analysis, the shear wall is divided into a series of rectangular elements. Similarly, the foundation is also divided into a series of rectangular elements. The unit stiffness is assembled into the overall stiffness matrix, and the relationship between nodal forces and nodal displacements is obtained.
