A prospective study was conducted on the changes of blood pressure in 138 acute stroke patients and 126 non-stroke patients for 7 consecutive days. Eighty stroke patients were followed up for 6 months. Results: After admission, the blood pressure of the stroke group and the control group were the highest for the first time. After that, the blood pressure of the stroke group decreased rapidly and reached a low value within 4 days after the blood pressure was reduced without any special step-down measures. After that, the blood pressure fluctuated at this level. For the first time after stroke, a significant increase in blood pressure measured after 6 months of poor neurological recovery, but no significant correlation with the recent mortality. Therefore, acute stroke increased blood pressure should take a cautious approach to avoid sudden drop in blood pressure during this period.
