八一电影制片厂拍摄的《大决战·淮海战役》希望通过一场战役的成败表现一个民族的前途与命运。坦率地说:这部影片由于拘泥于战争纠纷束缚于战场得失而使政治主题阐述缺乏份量,军事素材使用繁杂紊乱,使一部历史性决战的史诗片降格为一场战役性会战的军事片。更遗憾处,影片虽迷醉于军事却对军事本身缺乏宏观把握和历史观照,过多追求于视觉效果反而丧失了灵魂冲突,过份依赖于军情元素反而忽略了政情原因,使全片的军事布局缺乏整体感和周密感,政治与军事的结合发生断裂,严重影响了主题的深化。
