近来很多地震工作者都在研究如何把近代统计物理学关于“宇宙数”(4.6692)…,的研究成果移植到地震预报的研究工作上并加以推广应用,这无疑是一件好事。笔者在日常工作中也确实发现华北地震活动中有“分界数”的存在而且有区域性的特点。这里是把地震活动由一种状态变化到另一种状态所经过的某一个自然序数称为“分界数”的。比如1966年的邢台大地震群有5次Ms6.0级以上的地震,以6级地震为界,3月8日到29日为其爆发期,3月8日之前的前震和29日以后的余震在活动性上就有明显的差别,以“密集”—平静—大震”的特点来说就有明显的差别(《一九六六年邢台
