It is known that gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) promotes prolactin release in humans. It has been reported that intravenous drip of GnRH (0.2 μg / min for 3.5 hours) in normal women, postmenopausal women or ovariectomized women can cause significant prolactin release. This proves that pharmacological doses of GnRH can cause normal human prolactin release. Recently, in hypogonadal women, the observed non-pharmacological low doses of GnRH can also cause prolactin release.
