From September 19 to September 22, 2004, the president and editor-in-chief of the National Education Journal and the “People’s Education” conference were held in Fujian. Representatives from 27 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government attended the conference. Zhang Chengyuan, deputy director of the Department of Education of Fujian Province, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
