Shortly after the Second World War ended, the United States set out to restore Japan’s economy because Japan was at that time regarded as the only bastion for the West in its fight against communism toward Asia. According to TN McClau, Japan’s foreign policy has been guided by economic strategies, especially its competitive economic strategies, when Washington’s decision-making on the island nation and the entire world is also dependent on geopolitical considerations. The conflict between Japan and the United States originated from the disagreement on the perspective of foreign relations. As Japan shows its strength in trade and technology and the gradual decline of its industrial competitiveness in the United States, the conflict between Japan and the United States has also intensified.
