GIS,全称是Geographic Information System,翻译过来就是地理信息系统。也许仅仅从字面上,你还很难把它和我们传媒行业联系到一起。然而事实上,作为当今科技领域中的一项顶尖技术,它已经在包括传媒行业在内的各行各业得到了广泛应用。尤其是近年来信息技术的快速发展,我们更期待GIS在媒体行业的应用或可有更宽广的未来。也许正是由于这份期待,让我们有幸在不久前召开的“2010 Esri中国区域用户大会”上,一睹了“GIS之父”——加拿大地理学家罗杰·汤姆林森(Roger Tomlinson)的风采。
GIS, the full name is Geographic Information System, the translation is the geographic information system. It may be hard for you to literally link it with our media industry. However, in fact, as a top technology in the field of science and technology, it has been widely used in all walks of life, including the media industry. Especially in recent years, the rapid development of information technology, we also look forward to GIS applications in the media industry or may have a broader future. Perhaps it is precisely because of this expectation that we are fortunate enough to witness the “Father of GIS” at the 2010 Esri China Regional User Conference not long ago - Canadian Geographer Roger Tomlinson (Roger Tomlinson) style.
