由于残疾儿童本身有生理和心理方面的缺陷,因此人们往往从传统的观念出发,认为他们是令人怜悯,需要救济、照顾、抚慰的困难群体。人们的这种怜悯、同情之心虽然值得称道,但也有其负面影响。如果家长、教师或教育机构的领导、社会公众将这种思想有意无意地引入到家庭教育、学校教育或社会教育之中,就会延缓残疾儿童社会化的进程。比如在家里,家长代替弱智孩子穿脱衣服,代聋童上街买东西,代盲童铺床、洗衣服等;在一些特殊教育学校,普遍重视学生文化课的学习,较少带学生们走出校门去接触社会;社会上一些助残机构对残疾儿童的关心往往重视物质上的资助,而却忽视了对他们进行职业培训并给他们提供选择职业的机会。
Because of their physical and psychological defects, children with disabilities often start from the traditional view that they are merciless and need help, care and comfort. The compassion and sympathy of the people, though commendable, have their negative effects. If the leaders of parents, teachers or educational institutions and the public introduce this idea into family education, school education or social education intentionally or unknowingly, it will delay the socialization of children with disabilities. For example, at home, parents replace the mentally handicapped children to wear undressing clothes, go shopping on behalf of deaf children, make blinds for bedtime, wash clothes etc. In some special education schools, students generally attach importance to the study of students’ cultural classes, To social contact; some disabled persons in society often care about children with disabilities and attach importance to material support while neglecting vocational training and giving them the opportunity to choose their own job.
