凌源县大河北乡何丈子村有一片无灌溉条件的苹果园。1980～1984年连续大旱的情况下,全园230株29年生的国光苹果树平均株产达200斤左右。今年平均株产283斤,而且树势健壮,花芽形成良好。他们的旱作增产经验是:一截根据果树的不同立地条件,修建了不同的截流工程。缓坡地带全部修成“撅嘴”梯田,并挖好树盘;徒坡处在树盘附近挖一、两个截水沟或鱼鳞坑,用此来截流夏季雨水,保证日降雨量在100毫米内时,雨水不流出果园。
