东港市地处辽宁省东部的黄海北岸,是丹东市一个林业资源少县级市。全市共有林业用地面积82万亩,占该市总面积的22%。多年来,东港市通过政策引导、资金扶持、典型带动、技术培训、优质服务等措施,使板栗经济林和用材林基地、林产品及林副产品精深加工、森林旅游、涉林动物养殖、林木种苗花卉等林业产业逐渐发展壮大起来。2007年林业产值达到7亿元,一个林业资源小县正在逐步向林业产业强县迈进。
