计算机网络的发展已经引发了一场新的革命,而其中Internet/Intranet信息服务出现了很多新的技术。WWW(World Wide Web)系统和数据库是网络化信息服务的基础。WWW是一个基于Inter-net的、全球连接的、分布的、动态的、多平台的交互式图形超文本信息系统。它利用多种协议去传输和显示驻留在世界各地计算机上的多媒体信息源,与WWW服务一起为Internet提供“分布式客户/服务器”的运行环境。目前,Internet用户主要通过访问站点以获取信息,而大部分的站点都是静态的,或者由发布者隔一段时间对其进行修改。如何才能得到动态的页面?这便是由数据库+WWW服务器来完成的。
