生物反应修饰物(Biological response modifier,BRM)是一类具有多种生物活性的物质,其作用包括调节免疫应答和增强机体的抗肿瘤能力。近年来对这类物质的研究引起了人们极大的兴趣。BRM的来源包括微生物。在日本,从链球菌培养物中提取的BRM有Bestatin和OK-432,并已成为常用的免疫治疗剂和抗肿瘤药,疗效较好。 国内目前也在积极研究多种BRM。我国新近开发的多抗甲素就是其中之一。70年代,西安医学院方亮教授在预防克山病的研究中,注意到克山病患者上呼吸道甲型链球菌感染率高而肿瘤发病率较低,因而推测链球菌代谢产物中可能存在抗癌物质,并对预防克山病制剂链球菌F和X抗原疫苗作了抗癌试验,结果发现这些抗原对小鼠肉瘤S180有较强抑制作用。随后,他们与四川抗菌素工业研究所等许多单位协作,进行了广泛深入的研究,结果开发出了一种新的免疫促进剂——多抗甲素(PolyactinA,PAA)。目前的
Biological response modifiers (BRMs) are a group of substances with a variety of biological activities.
