On the third issue of your journal of 1990, you published a paper titled “Is x and y homologous chromosomes?” The paper proposed x and y are non-homologous chromosomes, I think this formulation is not precise. Here are some of my superficial views: The so-called homolgouschromasome refers to chromosomes that are similar in size, morphology and structure, and whose metabolism and genetic function are similar during meiosis. It is generally assumed that one of these paired chromosomes came from the paternal and one from the mother. Non-homologous chromosomes refer to those chromosomes in the cell that originate from the same organism and do not pair during meiosis. x and y are a pair of sex chromosomes that are differentiated from autosomes during evolution and are lost during differentiation
