洛阳分局地处河南省西部,地跨三省九地市,陇海、焦柳两大干线在洛阳枢纽内交汇,是路网中枢的重要组成部分,担负着华北、西北与华东、华南、西南地区间车流的通过作业,是我国北煤南运、北粮南运、西煤东运、西油东运、西棉东运的重要通道。洛阳枢纽主要技术作业站洛阳东站为一等区段站,站型为一级二场,2条正线,9条到发线,1条机走线,12条编组线,长期担负着编组站的作业,一直处于饱和状态。近两年洛阳分局与全路一样,面临运输、基建两条战线。一是侯月线建设并投入运营;二是焦柳复线、电化工程相继铺开;三是陇海线技改,更换60kg钢轨和道岔;四是宝丰机务段由蒸汽向内燃换型过渡,洛阳机务
