平塘县是贵州的南下通道,与广西接壤,由于历史、自然的原因,社会经济发展相对滞后,丰富的生物资源、水能资源、非金属矿产资源和旅游资源尚未很好开发。这里喀斯特地貌保存完好,是一块未开垦的宝地。西部大开发,贵州的贫困县怎么办?从本期起,本刊将开辟“开发平塘”专栏,介绍平塘县迎接大开发的思路和做法,展示贫困地区干部群众如何以饱满的热情、顽强的斗志,积极投身到西部大开发建设的精神风貌,以促进贫困地区经济社会的发展提供参考。
Due to historical and natural reasons, Pingtang County lags behind the southward passageway of Guizhou and lags behind its social and economic development. Its abundant biological resources, hydropower resources, non-metallic mineral resources and tourism resources have not yet been well developed. Karst here is well preserved, is an uncultivated land.
