住友金属采矿有限公司已研究出一种由红土矿生产镍铁的新方法。该法分两部进行,首先用环型竖窑进行预还原,然后预还原矿在电炉熔炼成镍铁。采用这种方法可产出含镍最高的锌铁,并且有较高的镍回收率。本文介绍了基础试验,中间工厂试验和半工业生产试验的结果。在半工业生产中,采用了直径为7米的环型竖窑作还原设备,每天约处理500吨湿矿石,熔炼设备为1500万伏安的电炉。这次试验成功地获得了含镍为30~40%的粗镍铁,镍的提取率在98%以上.所用矿石含镍2.4%,铁20%。
Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. has developed a new method for producing ferronickel from laterite mines. The law is divided into two parts, first with the ring shaft kiln pre-reduction, and then pre-reduction of ore smelting in the electric furnace into ferronickel. This method produces zinc-iron, which is the highest nickel, and has a high nickel recovery rate. This article presents the results of basic tests, intermediate plant tests, and semi-industrial production tests. In semi-industrial production, a ring-type shaft kiln with a diameter of 7 m was used as the reduction equipment. 500 tons of wet ores were treated daily and the smelting equipment was 15 million volt electric furnace. The test successfully obtained crude nickel-iron with 30 to 40% nickel, the extraction rate of nickel was above 98%, and the ore used contained 2.4% nickel and 20% iron.
