利用籼粳交偏籼强恢复系明恢76与爪哇型广亲和品种Warylowa杂交，选育出广亲和恢复系亚恢420，与三系、二系不育系配组表现大穗多粒，结实率高，籽粒充实度好，具有很强的营养优势和经济优势，但所配组合生育特性表现感光和基本营养型两种特性。亚恢420与龙特甫A配组的组合特优420属基本营养型，经多年的试验示范，于1998年4月通过了宁德地区农作物品种委员会的审定。
