A 120-acre open space outside the city of Fortron, California, stands a few neat and beautiful red-brick bungalows, which locals refer to as “campuses.” In fact its beautiful appearance is very disproportionate to its inside, its full name is “Frontigny women’s rearing center.” These buildings, built in the 1950s, were originally intended to hold 800 female prisoners, but today more than 2,500 female prisoners have been detained. Women prisoners complain about poor living conditions in their prisons, and the remains of animal dung and cockroach are often found in food served in the canteen. In New York City there is also such a women’s prison school. Because most of the young and middle-aged girls are off guard, sometimes they are noisy and outsiders mistakenly think they are boarding schools for girls. Hallway lights
