Chumbley和Tuncay证实用indomethacin(前列腺素抑制剂)能减慢牙移动的速度。
Orthodontics, the movement of teeth need to rebuild periodontal tissue, especially alveolar bone. Local bone metabolism is thought to be related to the biological response of periodontal tissues to mechanical forces. Previous authors have reported through the rat experiment that prostaglandins are the biochemical mediators of bone resorption, the orthodontic force of tooth movement can cause local cells to secrete and synthesize prostaglandins. Davidovitch and Shanfeld through cat experiments show that: alveolar bone prostaglandin E_2 (PGE_2) levels increased. Chumbley and Tuncay confirmed that using indomethacin (a prostaglandin inhibitor) slowed tooth movement.
