Stratigraphic-controlled uranium deposits were found in the Apollo-type Drifin thermal quartzite in the Archean community of central Arizona. The host rock is the upper strata of the system, a potassium-rich carbonaceous siltstone deposited in salt lakes in an offshore-tidal environment. Archean diabase greenstone intrudes into the rock formation and is close to the uranium deposit. Originally, the siltstone was derived from volcanic debris and was strongly altered by diagenesis and contact metamorphism associated with diabase invasion. Typically, uranium interlaminar disseminates occur in fine-grained layers and in layers containing numerous textures and sutures and in finely veined parallel or transcutaneous stratification. Has identified crystalline uranium and uranium stone. Uranium origin is enriched during diagenesis-sedimentation, due to contact metamorphism and chlorite alteration.
