The choices of the parameterizations for each component in a microwave radiative transfer model have large effects on the quality of brightness temperature (Tb) simulation. This study investigated how to reduce the uncertainty arising from Tb simulation by adopting the Bayesian model averaging (BMA) ensemble approach.BMA is a statistical post-processing procedure for producing calibrated and sharp predictive probability density functions (PDFs) based on the probabilistic likelihood measures of ensemble members. The Community Microwave Emission Model (CMEM) has a modular structure and permits combination of several parameterizations with different components.
