The tall buildings height exceeds 500m, with a total of 112 floors above ground and 5 basements.The lateral load resisting system consists of 8 mega columns, 6 belt trusses, 4 outrigger trusses and concrete core wall embedding steel plates.This article introduces the application method of numerical optimization in the projects structural design.Based on the sensitivity analysis of main components of the building, you may quickly find the key design factors and know how to change them.Then the exact analysis is given and explains how to optimize the cross-section size of members.In the project, both the first period and the lateral displacement are set as the objective.After optimization, the steel tonnage used in the tower is greatly reduced.
