Herpes simplex virus (HSV) is a widespread human pathogen.Two types of HSV are serologically distinguishable HSV1 and HSV2.Both of them present biological as well as epidemiological differences.Both virus infect epithelial cells.An HSV infection usually causes subclinic manifestations.However, it may develop generalized and fatal infection as in newborns and immunocompromised people.In this study, hybridoma cell lines which secreted monoclonal antibody specific against HSV1 was prepared and identified.It is suggested that the McAbs had the potential to be used in developing a rapid, easy and practical detection of HSV1.
