Headspace sampling coupled with gas chromatography (HS-GC) is a widely used technique for testing VDK and acetaldehyde in beer throughout the world.Sharing the headspace sampling, the two analyses are traditionally performed using different Columns and GC detectors. Thus, two different systems or one system configured with two different channels (switched manually) are required in quality control of brewing process. In this application, a new D-Swafer accessory is used to connect the two different channels configured in the same system. In this way, auto-switching of the sample gas between the two channels can be achieved with method and sequence optimized in the GC workstation, which can lower the cost of daily testing job and enlarge the throughput.
