The main objective of this study was to develop an ecological response model using diatoms assemblagesas akey indicator for assessing water quality and broader river health conditions.The purpose of doing this was to create a tool which could be used to help inform the configuration of flows down a highly regulated river to meet both consumptive water requirements for water supply, and also maintain or improve environmental conditions of the waterway.
