Needlets, as extension of classic Fourier analysis and wavelet theory, were proposed on spheres firstly in 2006.Soon after then needlets were extended to general manifolds and introduced int o statistics.In this talk we review needlet technique as an advanced tool for the analysis of statistical nonparametrie problems on manifolds and their application into cosmic microwave background analysis and neuroimage.
