历史的车轮滚滚向前。经过不懈的努力,我们终于可以眺望一个新的世纪。1999年,一个祈盼和平、和睦和发达的世界凝望百年之路,一个50岁能在多极世界中把握机遇的中国将为我们创造出自豪而繁荣的家园。回首’98,我们的国家、企业、家庭,还有我们自己都向新世纪迈出了稳健的一步。我们经受住了亚洲金融危机的冲击,战胜了严重的洪涝灾害,在扩大内需,加快基础设施建设中,开拓国内外市场,稳步推进各项改革。一年的汗浇血泼,一年的苦战拼搏,我们最深的切肤感受是,国家的发展,企业的兴衰,家庭的富裕和个人的荣辱,通过经济紧紧地联系在一起。
The wheels of history billow forward. Through unremitting efforts, we can finally see a new century. In 1999, a century of praying for a world of peace, harmony and development, and a 50-year-old China who can seize the opportunities in a multipolar world, will create a proud and prosperous home for us. Looking back, our country, our businesses, our families, and ourselves have taken a solid step towards the new century. We have endured the impact of the Asian financial crisis and overcame serious floods. We are expanding domestic demand, accelerating infrastructure construction, opening up domestic and foreign markets and steadily pushing forward all reforms. One year of sweat and blood pouring, year of hard fighting and fighting, our deepest feeling is that the country’s development, the rise and fall of businesses, family wealth and personal honor, are closely linked through the economy.
