The various storage methods of the images are summarized. The characteristics and limitations of the images are discussed. It is pointed out that the film is an excellent carrier for high resolution images and the necessity of converting the various types of images to the oriented films. Then the status quo of the film recorder is introduced. Discusses the principles, advantages and disadvantages of various film recorders.
