光接入网就是采用光纤传输技术的接入网。可分为无源光网络(PON)技术与有源光网络(AON)技术两类。这两种技术均被采用,也都在发展。但多数国家和ITU-T更倾向于发展无源光网络。ITU-T第15研究组已于1996年通过了无源光网络的国际建议G982。在窄带无源光网络走向实用化的同时,为了实现多媒体通信和信息基础设施的建设,一些通信先进国家已开始转向宽带无源光网络、ATM无源光网络的研究和开发。
Optical access network is the use of optical fiber transmission technology access network. Can be divided into passive optical network (PON) technology and active optical network (AON) technology two types. Both of these technologies are used and are also evolving. However, most countries and ITU-T are more inclined to develop passive optical networks. ITU-T Study Group 15 adopted the International Recommendation G982 for Passive Optical Networks in 1996. In the practical application of narrowband passive optical network, in order to realize the construction of multimedia communication and information infrastructures, some advanced countries in communication have begun to shift to the research and development of broadband passive optical network and passive optical network of ATM.
