The research carried out in 1934 on eight Upland cotton cultivars showed that temperature had a significant effect on the quality of cotton fiber and its effect on thickened development was far greater than that on elongation. The fiber length is only shortened obviously when the average daily temperature of elongation is less than 20 ℃. The thickening development and the fiber strength index are complicated with the temperature, although the higher the temperature is, the higher the strength is. However, ?) The average temperature of 18 ℃ as a turning point, less than 18 ℃ greater impact, higher than 18 ℃ impact weakened. The relationship between rupture length and cell wall density is similar to temperature.
