一少数民族当事人因不懂当地的民族语言,要求法院为他指定翻译人员。审判人员拒绝了他的要求,理由是合议庭的两位陪审员通晓该当事人民族的语言,他们可为该当事人翻译。笔者认为,这是对少数民族当事人要求翻译权的剥夺,是不符合法律规定的。 A minority party asked for the appointment of a translator for him because he did not understand the local national language. The trial officer rejected his request on the ground that the two jurors of the collegiate bench acquainted the ethnic language of the party with whom they could translate. The author believes that this is a deprivation of the right of translation for the minority parties and is not in conformity with the law.
