1958年11月25日,《广西日报》在头版发表了毛泽东主席于1958年1月12日写的关于报纸工作的指示信,发表了由《广西日报》记者赵黄岗拍摄的“毛主席在今年(1958年) 1月22日由刘建勋同志陪同和南宁市人民见面”的照片(见本刊本期52页照片“接见群众”),发表了中共广西省委第一书记刘建勋为《新闻战线》写的《认真执行毛主席关于报纸工作的指示》的文章及《广西日报》社论《给读者》。这对于广西来说,是一件重大的史实,为此,我们参阅了《韦国清上将——广西主政二十年》、《毛泽东与广西》等书籍并采访了当年有关人士,写成了《毛泽东在南宁》一文,以飨读者。
